# Crafting

A workbench handles cloth, wood, and guns. A furnace handles metal, and only while the fire is lit. You find both. You cannot build them.

A recipe takes about 10 seconds. Crafting skill can cut that to half. The materials come out of your pack.

## Workbench

| Result       | Materials                           |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------- |
| 2 Rags       | 1 Teddy, or 1 Old Teddy             |
| 2 Rags       | 1 White T-Shirt, or 1 Black T-Shirt |
| 2 Bandages   | 1 Isopropyl Alcohol, 6 Rags         |
| Baseball Bat | 3 Wood, 2 Duct Tape                 |

## Furnace

The furnace has to be burning.

| Result        | Materials                                           |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| 1 Screw       | 1 Scrap Metal                                       |
| 1 Bolt        | 1 Scrap Metal                                       |
| Hammer        | 3 Scrap Metal, 4 Screws, 2 Duct Tape                |
| Hatchet       | 2 Wood, 2 Scrap Metal, 2 Bolts, 2 Duct Tape         |
| 3 Scrap Metal | 1 Hammer. The screws and duct tape are lost. |
| 2 Scrap Metal | 1 Hatchet. The wood, bolts, and duct tape are lost. |

## Guns

Read a blueprint and that gun's recipe appears on the workbench. Until you read it, the recipe is hidden. A finished gun still needs the matching ammunition.

Kevin sells the sheets. The pistol is Neutral standing. The revolver and the shotgun are Warm. The hunting rifle is Friendly. The AK and the M4 are Allied.

| Gun                  | Parts                                                                          |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Glock 17 Pistol | Pistol Frame, Pistol Slide, Pistol Trigger, Small Spring |
| Colt Anaconda | Revolver Frame, Cylinder, Revolver Barrel, Revolver Trigger, Small Spring |
| Mossberg 500 Shotgun | Shotgun Receiver, Shotgun Barrel, Shotgun Stock, Shotgun Trigger, Large Spring |
| CZ 527 Rifle | Rifle Receiver, Rifle Barrel, Rifle Stock, Rifle Trigger, Scope, Large Spring |
| AK-47 Rifle | AK Receiver, AK Barrel, AK Stock, Rifle Trigger, Large Spring |
| M4A1 Rifle           | M4 Receiver, M4 Barrel, M4 Stock, Rifle Trigger, Large Spring                  |

## Taking a gun apart

Breaking a gun down at a workbench takes about 15 seconds. Crafting skill shortens that too.

If you have read that gun's blueprint, you get every part back. If you have not, you get 3 parts at random and the rest are ruined.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://deadtiles.gitbook.io/deadtiles-docs/the-county/crafting.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
